All complaints should be raised directly with the accommodation provider first. You must be able to provide evidence that you’ve done this. If you’ve been unable to resolve the issue directly with the accommodation provider, then you may submit a complaint to the National Code Complaints Investigator by completing the form below.

The National Code Complaints Process can handle complaints about breaches of the National Code. The National Code cannot make decisions about legal or contractual matters such as compensation or cancelling tenancy agreements. Please see our FAQs for further information.

Evidence must be collated into a single file attachment (e.g. Word, PDF or similar).

We will normally share all information sent to us by a student (or their representative or other complainants) with the member. This is to ensure complaints can be dealt with swiftly, and so that complainants and members are aware what we are considering and have a fair opportunity to respond to what the other has said. Please consider this when submitting your information.

What happens next?

We’ll check you’ve raised the complaint directly with your accommodation provider first. Then your complaint will be assessed by the National Code Complaint Investigator, who will respond with further guidance.
