As part of our commitment to ensuring our members follow The ANUK/Unipol National Code of Standards, we are conducting checks on members' websites and complaints procedures.
We are focusing on several key areas:
Clearly displaying National Code membership;
Having an easy-to-find complaints procedure;
Including important information within the complaints procedure (how to raise complaints in confidence and timescales for responding);
Ensuring The National Code is clearly listed as an external escalation route with the correct signposting links.
These checks will ensure that it is easy for current and prospective tenants to identify if The National Code accredits their building. These checks will also ensure transparency across our providers, ensuring that students are fully aware of how and where they can raise their complaints.
This isn't just helpful for students; members will also benefit. By ensuring that students have a clear and easy way of raising complaints, these can be handled more effectively, which helps to limit the number of escalations.
We are working through our members in decreasing order of properties and will be contacting them with guidance on any changes required.
We thank members for their continued commitment to improving student housing and encourage them to get in touch if they have any questions about this process or our expectations for their websites and complaints procedures.
