What is Purpose-Built Student Accommodation?

Private sector Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (also known as PBSA) are usually halls of residence type buildings, operated by private sector companies – many  students will have lived in one of these buildings during their first year of University if studying away from home. For the purposes of the National Code, a PBSA building is a development that contains 15 or more bed spaces.
